The surgical robot system used this time was jointly developed by Tianjin University, Central South University and other units. It is a brand-new type of endoscope-assisted surgical robot system with independent intellectual property rights. The robot adopts a master-slave mode of operation and is equipped with a doctor's console and a robotic trolley. The minimally-invasive device has 3 to 4 degrees of freedom and the distal end has a variety of forms. Surgical instruments can be quickly installed and evacuated through the instruments at the end of the instrument's operating arm. In the middle of the doctor's console, two main operators and a control panel that can perform various initial settings for the robot system are installed. A three-dimensional display box is mounted on the top of the operating table to provide the operator with real-time three-dimensional surgical scene information in the patient through a stereoscopic image display window.
Experts said that the surgical robot system is suitable for the following surgical procedures: First, robotic surgery such ascholecystectomyand appendectomy that has no effect on conventional laparoscopic surgery; Second, hepatic lobectomy and complex biliary reconstruction. The robotic surgerycan significantly improve the effect of laparoscopic surgery; Third, visceral aneurysm resection and anastomosis, intra-abdominal lymph node dissection and other laparoscopic surgery which is difficult to be accurately completed. Although the three surgeries performed this time were relatively simple, the ability to implement more complex surgeries was technically available.
It is understood that in developed countries, the surgical robot system has been widely used in general surgery, urology, cardiothoracic surgery and other fields, and has achieved great success. At present, a group of well-known domestic hospitals, including the PLA General Hospital, Second Artillery General Hospital, and Peking Union Medical College Hospital, have also introduced the technology from abroad and successfully carried out related surgical procedures. The successful launch of domestic robotic surgery has made China one of the few countries to master the technology from equipment research and development to clinical research. The long-term dependency of high-end medical equipment such as surgical robots on imports is expected to change significantly.
