On June 14th, the 2014 Yale-Xiangya Ethics Examination Course organized by the Medical College of Central South University, the Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, and the Medical Ethics Research Center of Central South University was held in the Academic Reporting Hall on the second floor of the surgical building of our hospital.
Prof. Tian Yongquan, Director of Center for Medical Ethics of Central South University, Prof. Tian Yongquan, Vice President of Central South University, Fan Zhenxian, Director of the Department of Health and Education of Hunan Provincial Health Department , Prof. Luo Aijing, Secretary ofthe Third XiangyaHospital of Central South University, and Kaveh Khoshnood, Associate Professor of Yale School of Public Health attended the launch ceremony and respectively Address.
The training course was chaired by Professor Yuan Hong, Deputy director of the Medical Ethics Research Center of Central South University and Deputy Dean of the Third Xiangya Hospital, and Zhang Xin, Deputy director of Medical Ethics Research Center of Central South University and Vice president of Xiangya Medical School. The course invited Professor Kaveh Khoshnood and Prof. Susan Bouregy from the School of Public Health at Yale University, Professor Wang Puyu, Deputy director of the Clinical Trials and Ethics Committee of Peking University, and Professor Li Lun, Dean of the School of Public Administration of Hunan Normal University, to give lectures and training. Participants included ethical members of Xiangya Hospital, the Second Xiangya Hospital, the Third Xiangya Hospital, Nursing College, and School of Public Health, as well as experts from the Hebei Province Food and Drug Administration and hospitals.
Prof. Kaveh Khoshnood, Prof. Susan Bouregy, Prof. WANG Puyu, and Prof. LI Lun made wonderful lectures on the “Conclusion of the Initial Review to the Project: The Functions of the IRB”, “Different Ethical Review Methods for Different Projects,” “Clinical trial protocol and informed consent ethical review points” and "Cultural abilities and IRB ethical review" and conducted a mock review and lively discussion with on-site participants in an ethical review case.
After the meeting, Prof. Kaveh Khoshnood and Prof. Susan Bouregy signed autographs and issued training certificates on behalf of the training organizer.
