On January 8, the "2018 Sino-US Bioethics, Law and Philosophy Forum" co-sponsored by the Xiangya Hospital of Central South University and the Medical Ethics Research Center of Central South University was held in the Academic Reporting Hall on the third floor of Xiangya Hospital. Many well-known domestic and international experts from the fields of public health, medical ethics, and law have gathered to discuss in-depth discussions on multidisciplinary issues related to hot issues in the fields of bioethics, law, and philosophy.
Chen Xiang, Vice President of Central South University, and Xiao Ping, Party Secretary of Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. The opening ceremony of the meeting was hosted by Professor Zhang Xin, Director of the Hospital Management Department of Central South University. More than 300 famous universities at home and abroad including Yale University, Johns Hopkins University, Vanderbilt University, Yale Association, Peking University, Guangzhou Medical University, China Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Central South University. Multidisciplinary experts attended the forum. The forum was funded by the Masters Level Bioethics Program at Central South University in Changsha, China, hosted by Professor Tian Yongquan of Xiangya Hospital of Central South University and Professor Kaveh Khoshnood of Yale University School of Public Health.

Prof. Kaveh Khoshnood, head of the NIH project in the United States, introduced the results and prospects of the project. He said that during the first five years, the project helped Central South University set up an international center for medical ethics research; based on resources from Yale University, it established an international ethics curriculum system for medical graduate students; A bioethicist who is responsible for ethics education and ethics training. It is hoped that the new project funding will enable the Chinese government, medical institutions and academic institutions to cultivate more outstanding talents.
Professor Tian Yongquan, head of the NIH project, said that the new project aims to establish an international, sustainable, interdisciplinary, bioethics education mechanism and bioethics short-term certification training model for Central South University. Our school's bioethics has achieved preliminary results, has been recognized by domestic and foreign counterparts, and will achieve further development in the next few years, gradually with the world-class institutions, it will also contribute to the development of China's bioethics disciplines. With more strength, it helps our country's bioethics talents with international perspectives.
The chairman of the Medical Ethics Branch of the Chinese Medical Association and the director of the Peking University Health Science Department, Professor Junya Li, said that the basic issues of bioethics and its solutions have coincided from the Hippocratic oath to the new millennium physician charter. Academic researchers and managers who are worthy of relevant research in-depth study. Hopefully, in the coming days, the Medical Ethics Committee of the Chinese Medical Association can establish closer contact and interaction with Central South University. It is hoped that Xiangya Medical Humanities and Medical Education at Central South University will develop better and better under the background of internationalization.
